This past Saturday, September 8th, Field Squared attended Arc Thrift Stores 50th Anniversary and Annual Born To Be Me Gala in Downtown Denver, Colorado. As a Colorado company that steadfastly supports Arc and their mission, we wanted to talk a beyond field service management to highlight their story and recap this special event on our blog.
What Makes Arc So Special
Arc is a remarkable non-profit organization in Colorado—one of the largest in the State—whose mission it is to advocate for people with intellectual disabilities. In the State of Colorado, they are one of the largest employers of people with disabilities. When Arc talks, the Colorado community doesn’t just listen, they act. Since 2005, Arc has funded over $100 million in charity contributions and now give around $20 million annually to charity. From vehicle donation programs to vouchers for people in need and meals on wheels, Arc is a beacon of light in the Colorado community and around the world.
Arc’s global impact goes far beyond the category of a non-profit, making an impression that spans economic, social and government.
Recapping the 50th Anniversary and Annual Gala Event
The 2018 Annual Gala was the largest event yet, attracting a record 750 attendees, of which Field Squared was a Table Sponsor. The evening kicked-off with the famous silent auction that featured donations from many Colorado companies, including an all-expense paid trip to Atlantic City.
When we made our way into the decked-out dining hall, we were greeted with the night’s entertainment: a rousing Motown band. What followed was an evening of fun—there was a fashion show and a live donation auction—and celebration of Arc’s “Heroes of the Year,” honoring Arc employees who have made a difference at the organization.
As the confetti fell and people took to the dance floor to commence the theme for this year’s event, “Dancing in the Streets,” the excitement was palpable. As a member and officer of the Arc Board, I have witnessed Arc’s growth and increasing community support first-hand, and this year’s event was particularly gratifying. I would later learn this year’s event raised a record donation amount.
Field Squared is truly humbled and honored to be a part of the Annual Gala and thankful to offer our support to the great organization that it is.
Thank you to the event staff, the Board and the attendees who made the event the success that it was. Field Squared will be there to support you in 2019 and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for Arc over the next 50 years.
